{Bruce has now seemed to calm down, he speaks without anger and does actually seem quite relaxed now. He places Frank Plumber's folder back where it belongs and picks up Adam Quist's. Quist's folder is much thicker than it was last time we saw it. Bruce only looks towards the back of the folder, nodding with satisfaction as he reads through. It takes him a considerable amount of time to read through the new findings before he places it, open, on the table. He stays leaning forward for this one, Adam has obviously touched a nerve.}
Adam, it seems you and I have a very similar mind. We can read our opponents, we can interpret them, we can give a good summary of their mind, the difference is, Adam, which of us is correct? That is correct, the same question is arising. I told you before, which you agree with, only one of us can be correct, but I fear your interpretation of the answer is false. You agreed with me on a couple of points, Adam, why is it the only thing we seem to disagree on is our ability to beat one another? Please do not tell me it is because you can beat me, because that is obviously incorrect. Either that, or you missed my match with Brett Ferguson, because if you witnessed that, you would know. You would know you cannot defeat me. Watch the recording, Adam, then you cannot preach that I am "no talent like you." Unless you mean it in the context of there is no talent like you, for I surpass your talent by some amount.
Adam, I found a few flaws again in your segment dedicated to myself. You said I have gone my whole career being underestimated, false. There have only been moments, whenever I have held gold to the sky, nobody underestimates me. Whenever my arm has been held in victory, I am not underestimated. As soon as the bell rings and I set upon my opponent, I am not underestimated, far from it my friend. You said you do not underestimate anyone, Adam, then why do you repeatedly write me off? Surely if you do not underestimate, you will know that I am fully capable of defeating you. Unless you are choosing to ignore that fact for fear of showing weakness. That will be denied though, will it not, Adam? You said that you will give me my chance to prove myself, Adam, you are not giving me anything- I am taking it. You do not have a choice in the matter. If you do not wish to fight me in that ring, wish I know is a wild accusation, but stay with me. If you do not wish to fight me in that ring, I will take it to you. All the more reason to target me, Adam? Show me your best, just to allow me to take the chance to prove to you I am superior.
{Bruce falls silent, taking a moment to gather his thoughts. He now leans back in his chair, allowing the arm rests to serve their purpose. He now carries on in a much more friendly voice.}
So you do not appreciate my "manipulation" Adam? You said you can contain your anger, and all those feelings that I try to stir up inside of you, Adam? False again. For you see, you still made a response directed at me. I still managed to get something out of you, more insight into your mind and how it works. Adam, this has proved I can manipulate you, maybe not in the way I wish, but it shows I have some form of control over of you. I may not be able to make you believe that I can eliminate you, but I can sure as hell make you believe I am to be threatened. That bead of sweat running down your forehead right now gives it away, Adam. You know I can get under your skin, you know I know how to work you up. Adam, you know I have gotten inside your mind and worst of all, you know there is nothing you can do. You have stepped over the line of return the moment you mentioned my name. If you said nothing, that would have perfect, you have shown you can in fact ignore me, you have shown I mean nothing to you, but no, you open your mouth, Adam. You make it crystal clear I am in your thoughts, you make it perfectly known I am in your thoughts. Adam, I now know I am in your mind, and believe me, it is very dangerous. I sincerely hope we meet in the ring, Adam, so I can show you exactly how dangerous I am.
If what we do in the ring is ultimately the most important thing, Adam, why do you continue to speak? It is because you lie, you hide your true feelings. You say I hide my weaknesses, I do not. I have physical weaknesses, I have losses on my record, I have been put in hospital throughout my career, on at least five occasions, but my mind, my mind is a different story, Adam. My mind is vastly superior, there is not even a crack. I have told those whom I respect that I respect them, I can live with that, I can still resume to defeat them. Adam, my mind, is what you try to make out your's to be. It is you, Adam, who has the weaknesses you shall not admit to.
You told me I have a better vocabulary, I know how to make a speech, well thank you for the compliments, Adam. You said these mean nothing though, and that is true. Those factors count for nothing, but it is what they hint at, Adam, that matters. They show intelligence and as I told Renegade earlier, we need a balance of all these things. Physical ability, mental ability and we need intelligence. The intelligence to know when to strike and when to not, the intelligence to know when to sit back, the intelligence to know when to conserve energy. Adam, I had the intelligence to get into your mind, I know your mind and that Adam, is one of the greatest advantages you can have in this industry. Yes, Adam, I do believe advantages are good things, sure it may not be fair, but I will not receive a disqualification for it. It was up for grabs, and I grabbed it. All perfectly legal, Adam. That was a weakness I suppose, I had to reach for an advantage, say what you will, Adam. I can admit this, but this advantage, Adam, it will help me overcome you. Face it or not, it has made you an awful lot easier to defeat and I am confident of my abilities with no advantages, as I made known. So, a damn good chance plus the golden knowledge of your mind, the lesson is no longer english, Adam, but mathematics. What does a superior wrestler plus knowledge of your mind equal, Adam? I would take a stab at victory.
You are correct Adam when you say only one can win, but your working got muddled up somewhere, you came out with an incorrect answer, Adam. The correct answer is not you, and it never will be as long as I am involved in the equation.
{Bruce takes a few short breaths, desperate to contain himself. He softly carries on, his voice grows quieter.}
Isolate those you deem the greatest threat, Adam. Isolate them and pay the price. There are a couple of threats in this match, if you isolate one of them, you will still have other men in that ring, Adam. One of them will target you and with your back turned, you are as good as beaten. I choose to focus on everyone, Adam, taking them all as they come. That includes you, you will try to isolate me and I will watch as you are eliminated, as my hands or someone else's. Better yet, Adam, I will enjoy the view from in the ring.
So you took a break the other night, Adam? You let our match completely leave your mind? I doubt it, if that was the case, you are surely going to lose. In the ring with me, Adam, you cannot let your mind stray, the fact you can do that at any time is enough indication of how seriously you take this match and those involved. One moment, Adam, is all it takes. One moment and I will make sure you are defeated. Do not give me something else to "exploit" Adam, do not let me gain another advantage. Give me a good hard fight, make me feel not as superior. Show me, Adam, that your words are partly truth at the very least. Prove your worth, Adam, prove yourself. You seem so destined to do so, then you slip up. You do not see the bigger picture, you are only one line in a square. You cannot see how long my horizon stretches, and with failure to see everything I throw at you, shows a severe disadvantage.
I stayed silent, Adam, for I wished to gather enough information on you to make you see my true potential. I wanted to know everything about you, I wished to train, just as you have been doing. My lifestyle is a busy one, Adam, but you know what makes me different from you? Whenever I talk, it still has a massive impact. I could have spoken when you were quiet, and I have no doubt, it would have caused a few ripples, but look at me now, Adam. I am speaking when a lot of our opponents have spoken, when you have popped up again, and my words are still creating a large impact. My words need impact, they do, there is no doubting that, but what impact does count, is when your body hits the outside of the ring after you have just been defeated. When you look up and see me battling on against whatever opponents are left. Adam, listen to me. I know you can feel the impact of my words, it is not me that needs to look in a mirror. You say you have never lost, I have the records right here.
{Bruce taps the folder in front of him. He pushes it aside, taking the final folder in his other hand- Jordan Rice. Bruce once again takes a couple of moments to calm himself, it is obvious he has a strong disliking for Adam Quist. As he tries to contain himself he reads through part of Jordan's folder. After he is calm, he resumes with his words.}
Jordan Rice, the man that escaped my wrath. Well thought he had, here we are again. Jordan, I do not enjoy beating people who are not up to my standard, it insults me. I would much rather be fighting the likes of Starr and Crackerjack, but we all need to start somewhere. Some of us will just excel while others do not. Although, I must say, I was disappointed to not see you in that ring, you are one inferior I would have loved to defeat. If only to show you, you are nothing. However, Jordan I will move on since you wish to not dwell on what has passed, like the fact you wiggled your way out of our match. Jordan, I personally do not care if you are in the mood for victory, neither do any of the other eight. What you care for, means nothing to me. My time is limited, Jordan, I will give you that. Limited to the time where I choose to retire, which is not any time soon, or at least until I face an opponent that could force me into retirement, but you have no responsibility, Jordan, no pressure because you are certainly not that man.
You have let something slip, Jordan. You told us all you have to "worry" about this match, to quote yourself. So how worried are you, Jordan, and please be honest. You have said it now, there is no point in denying it. What worries you, Jordan? It is the crowd watching us, the need to impress those in powerful positions, the height between the top rope and floor, or is it one of us, Jordan? Is it me? Be honest in your answer. Jordan, you have got to lose this "I cannot be beaten" attitude, as long as I, or anybody else in this case is in that ring, you face defeat everywhere you turn. You are one of few men I am going to struggle with when attempting to treat you all as an equal threat. Jordan, this is my second match too, but I am not receiving this talk of how I am undeserving of a title shot, why? I shall tell you; because people can see I am talented, that they may aswell give it to me now rather than later. In your case, you are undeserving because they cannot see this talent, nobody can. If you believe you have talent, then do show us in this match, you were correct when you said that this is our chance to kick start our XFC careers, and Jordan, I plan on doing exactly that. It is a shame you will be wasting your time, Jordan.
Jordan, I will bring all I have got into this match, and I will let you receive the great amount of pain I will be inflicting on every opponent I encounter. Your "A-Game" as you call it, will mean nothing, because this is not a game, Jordan, this is serious. If you treat this like a game, you will face the consequences. I am not some kind of level boss, I am Bruce Lomond, and I am Reality. Wake up, Jordan, wake up and face Reality. I told you before, everything I say will become reality, and you will see that happen right before your eyes. So Jordan, are you ready for war? Just remember, casualties are taken on each side. I will keep walking, while you will fall, all the way to the floor outside the ring.
{Bruce pauses again, taking another moment to flick through Jordan Rice's folder. He smiles confidently before carrying on.}
Jordan, I suggest you do take my name into account, do not dare for a second to think of me as nothing less than what I am entitled to. For if you do, you will see why it is so dangerous to underestimate. You will find it is not me going "splat" as your brother put it. Please do not tell me I heard you say you do not need to train, if you take us all that lightly, while not having training, you will be guaranteed defeat. I do not think anyone in this match can defeat me, yet I am attempting to get as realistic practice as possible without the real thing. I will be developing tactics, I will make sure I am ready for anything, this is another sign of my intelligence, Jordan. I will head into this match fully prepared, it will be just another advantage that I possess.
{Bruce begins to read again, frowning sternly he looks away from the folder.}
That is right, Jordan, go and get plastered before our match. Drown your sorrows, forget your fears. Anything to get this match out of your mind, while you get out of your face. I will tell you the very same I told Adam, do not let your mind wonder in that ring, or you will suffer, I will make sure of it. I sincerely hope you remember this, because I would hate it to slip your mind if you watch this under the influence.
I said before, Jordan, I am not equal to your talent, I am more than your talent. I will let the other men tell you where they stand with you, but I'm telling you this right now, Jordan, you are below me. You do not have the discipline, the mind or the talent to defeat me and what makes things worse, is that you do not even appear to know it. That is truly the saddest thing.
{Bruce now closes Jordan's folder and tosses it to the other side of his desk before leaning forward on the table. His voice is more threatening now, it is still low, but it possibly the most threatening we have heard coming from his mouth since he first appeared.}[/I]
Listen to me, all of you. I will bring all I have got, I will treat you all as if you are world champions, with this talent, the talent required to dethrone a champion, you will all fall at my hands. You will all be eliminated, I tell you this why? This can be possible how? I am Bruce Lomond, "100% Reality."
{Bruce gets up from his seat and begins to leave the room, we fade to black on the four folders on the table as Bruce disappears.}[/I]
